Engineering What's Possible Since 1988

Service. Innovation. Value.

DCI offers comprehensive structural and civil engineering services, including heavy industrial, right-of-way and bridge services, to support the vision of our clients and help transform the built environment.

The DCI Difference

With offices spanning from Alaska to the East Coast, DCI leverages a regional presence with national experience in 20 markets. Heading up these markets are DCI’s thought leaders who bring a specialized focus for our project partners and a company-wide technical resource for our 400+ employees.

This sharing of knowledge translates to DCI’s everyday operations. From cross-office collaboration to integrating the latest technologies, DCI is through-and-through a partner, because it’s not just about what we do but what we can do together that makes a difference.

Our Values

DCI isn’t just focused on building something tangible, but also building a culture that embraces diverse ideas, equality, and celebrates the individual stories of our employees. We believe diversity drives innovation in an environment that is designed to help employees grow.

While DCI is proud to help build within our communities, sometimes a new building just isn’t enough. Helping change the built environment comes with a responsibility to help the people who are a part of it – as well as to the men and women who are entering the industry. Learn More

A Tradition of Good Work with Good People

From the Ground Up... Literally. Two friends--Mark D’Amato and Guy Conversano--open D'Amato Conversano Inc. out of a home basement in Kirkland, Washington. They start small, providing structural design for a local driving range and working on their long game, eventually landing their first large-scale project: an aquarium featuring two large tanks, one for dolphins and the other for sharks.

DCI opens a civil department

At the urging of clients, DCI expands its services to provide civil design work. Fast forward to today and our DCI Civil team is cranking out some pretty exciting work -- from public and private developments to the greenest stadium in the world!

Troy Bean moves to Everett to open DCI's first branch office.

Our Seattle group stretches its legs by opening a branch office just north in the town of Everett, WA.

Expanding Service, Innovation & Value

DCI's growth continues with the opening of its first out-of-state office in Portland, Oregon, led by Harry Jones. Then, it’s on to the “east side” when DCI opens its Spokane, Washington office with newly added team member Mark Aden.

Trading Our Rain Gear for Sunglasses

Dick Hemmen gets DCI into the California market by opening the San Diego office.

Howdy, Y'all

DCI stretches its legs—and tries on some cowboy boots for size—with the opening of its first non-west coast location in Austin, Texas.

Growing in Cali

DCI Principal Damon Smith heads down to SoCal to open DCI's Irvine office.

Picking up Momentum

DCI’s growth is full speed with the acquisition of SDE and the opening of its San Francisco office, led by Jeff Brink. Farther north—way north—Paul Rogness opens DCI’s Anchorage office.

Our SoCal Journey is Complete

Mark Aden rounds out DCI’s southern California presence by opening the firm's Los Angeles office.

DCI Opens More Offices and a New Department

With the growth of the Seattle area and DCI’s staff, the firm opens two more satellite offices in Bellevue and Everett, Washington. In another pocket of the U.S., DCI opens its first intermountain region office in Denver. Right-of-way services are also added out of its Spokane location.

The DCI Family Grows

The firm reaches a milestone of 300 employees. Part of this growth happens with the acquisition of BCE Structural where DCI expands its office locations in Kalispell, Missoula and Bozeman, Montana. BCE’s like-minded spirit and collection of good people provides a natural move for DCI and represents the joining of two engineering families.

DCI Becomes a National Firm

DCI's leadership connects with MacIntosh Engineering, a small structural firm with offices in Wilmington, DE and Wayne, PA that shares the same passion for providing clients with top-notch service. It's a match made in heaven and the firms join forces, moving DCI officially into the East Coast market.

Innovation -- there's a reason it's part of our tag line. At DCI, we value bringing new ideas and refined solutions to the table. This includes driving education on new technologies and practices both internally and externally, creating value for our project partners, team members and industry colleagues.
