Another Banner Year for DCI’s Golf Tournament for Childhaven

Themed Day on the Links Raises a WONDEROUS $92,000 for Western Washington Non-Profit

On August 24, DCI staff, clients and industry partners participated in the DCI Wonderland Tournament for Childhaven at the Golf Club at Newcastle in Newcastle, Washington. The day was filled with Alice in Wonderland-themed décor and plenty of volunteers and guests dressed in their best Mad Hatter, Queen of Hearts, Cheshire Cat and other story characters.

The scramble-style format included both courses at Newcastle, which overlooks downtown Bellevue and the Seattle skyline. The weather cooperated, with sunny skies and highs in the 80s; and after a day of quick play by all the foursomes, attendees gathered in the ballroom for drinks, a summer English-style buffet and to the raise the paddle and bid on live auction items that included two separate Seahawks game day tickets, getaways to the Sage Lodge and Whitefish Mountain Resort in Montana, custom-fit golf clubs and more.

At the podium, Childhaven Chief Philanthropy Officer Kristi Nelson and DCI Principal Roger Heeringa shared some encouraging and exciting stats about Childhaven’s evolution over the past several years, adding that in the past 23 years of the Tournament’s support of Childhaven, the event has raised over $1M.

Here’s to a successful and truly WONDER-filled day – we look forward to hosting all our friends next year.
