DCI Announces Associate Principal & Associate Promotions

DCI is pleased to announce the promotions of the following staff to Associates and Associate Principals.

Mary Klepin, PE, SE, has been promoted to Associate in the San Diego office. Mary joined DCI nearly 10 years ago in 2014 immediately after she graduated from the University of California, San Diego with her Masters in structural engineering. At DCI, she has designed high-rise structures throughout southwest California with an emphasis on concrete design. As a team manager, Mary provides her team members with essential efficiency- and structural conformance recommendations that benefit both construction cost and schedule.

Stephen Matkin, PE, has been promoted to Associate in the Coeur d’Alene, Idaho office. After joining DCI in 2013, Stephen worked on a variety of projects in the inland Northwest, including but not limited to; commercial sites, healthcare, PK-12 schools and sports stadiums. Stephen believes maintaining communication with clients, owners and other design team members during the design process is the best way for projects to advance smoothly. He strives to maintain relationships with his clients by providing quality plans and timely responses through the construction process.

Chelsea Collins has been promoted to Associate in DCI’s Wilmington office. Chelsea leverages 20 years of valuable technical experience and communication skills to enhance any design team she’s a part of. She carries a B.S. from the University of Virginia and a Master’s in Structural Engineering at the University of California – Berkley. Chelsea has worked and familiarized herself with all building materials - including innovative designs like mass timber - and her projects range in size, from repairs and designing new elements for pre-existing structures to designing multi-story residential, commercial and educational projects. Over the course of her career, Chelsea has naturally established relationships with stakeholders including regional contractors, subcontractors, owners and authorities having jurisdiction, providing an advantage when applying technical solutions. Recent project examples include developments for Williamson College of the Trades’ campus including their new two-story Wesley Student Center and Howley Student Residence Hall, Pinnacle at Waypoint mixed-use development and Rolex’s three-story retail building in Lower Gwynedd Township, PA. Chelsea is a member of DCI’s DEI Committee – a combined team of 26 technical and non-technical support staff focused on building a culture that embraces diverse ideas, equality and celebrates the individual stories of our employees. As an organic leader by nature, Chelsea provides the Wilmington office with a progressive direction and a mixture of unity and care.


Jordyn McCoy has been promoted to Associate in the Seattle office. As the Corporate Marketing Manager, Jordyn has been integral in developing DCI’s qualifications branding and managing the company’s social media profiles. She has also spearheaded marketing initiatives for several DCI markets and works closely with the firm’s Business Development and Communications teams. Since joining the firm in 2018, Jordyn has accelerated DCI’s role as a thought leader through innovative story-telling and the introduction of new technologies used by her team and throughout the company. She prides herself on keeping her internal clients and team organized and continuing to drive DCI’s marketing efforts forward.

Melissa Sibley, PE, has been promoted to Associate Principal in the Houston office. Melissa manages and leads DCI’s Houston office and guides her team of engineers on a range of projects, including multi-family residential, affordable housing projects, healthcare, K-12 schools, mixed-use, and high-rises in the community and across the country. Melissa promotes DCI’s vision and goals by supporting senior leadership with strategizing team growth and business development. Melissa’s enthusiasm for the industry made her an advocate for younger engineers and a passionate volunteer for ACE Mentor Program of Houston.

Connor McGrath, PE, has been promoted to Associate Principal in the Wilmington office. Connor was born in The Bronx, NY, and attended the University of Delaware where he graduated in 2012 with a degree in structural engineering. Connor has been with the company for 10 years and in that time he’s designed projects of every size, market and material. Connor lives in Wilmington with his wife and 22-month-old daughter and their two cats.

Sam Fox, PE, SE, has been promoted to Associate Principal in the Bozeman, Montanan office. Sam started at DCI in 2008 as an Intern and we’re so proud to see how far she’s come! Samantha Fox has contributed to a variety of projects, specializing in the assessment and renovation of existing and historic structures, as well as heavy timber and log design. She is part of the Yellowstone National Park team and works to help restore the park’s historic structures. Samantha also provides full-service project management and construction support for a diverse range of other project types, such as single-family residences, K-12 and higher education buildings and adaptive reuse projects. Clients rely on her expert engineering recommendations involving framing systems, shoring details and design efficiencies. Samantha produces consistent and clear construction documents, assessment reports, cost estimates and RFI responses. Samantha authored an article about her snow load cases and design check experience with Yellowstone National Park structures. The article appeared in the May 2017 issue of STRUCTURE magazine, published by NCSEA.
