DCI Promotes Principals to Vice-Presidents

SEATTLE, Wash. – March 20, 2019 -- DCI Engineers, a civil and structural engineering firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of the following principals to new vice-president roles in our corporation. The vice-president positions were added to the organization to better facilitate the firm’s growth and management, plus to differentiate the principals’ corporate responsibility.

Jeff Brink, PE, SE, LEED AP, has been promoted to vice-president in the San Francisco office. After being promoted as the Principal In Charge of the office in 2013, Jeff managed the office’s strategic growth and oversaw the staff mentoring efforts. He tapped into the multifamily and technology markets in the Bay Area. Jeff currently leads a combined team of 29 technical and administrative support staff. He is a member of the firm’s Executive Management Team. He is also a member of the San Francisco Housing Action Coalition and San Francisco Bay Area Planning and Urban Research Association (SPUR).

Grant Buckingham, PE, SE, LEED AP, has been promoted to vice-president in the Seattle office. He has more than 25 years of experience in structural engineering and project management. Grant has designed and managed a variety of public and private sector projects, from single-story structures to high-rise buildings. He has also designed structures through Performance Based Design methodology and sustainability criteria. Grant is a corporate officer of the firm’s Executive Management Team and is the Principal In Charge of DCI’s information technology.

Craig Crowley, PE, SE, LEED AP, has been promoted to vice-president in the Spokane office. With more than 20 years of experience at the office, Craig has been involved with business development, project management, and leadership. Craig currently leads a combined team of 51 technical and non-technical support staff. He is a member of the firm’s Executive Management Team. He is also a member of the Structural Engineers Association of Washington (SEAW), American Institute of Architects (AIA) – Spokane Chapter, and the Spokane County Construction Review Board.

Greg Gilda, PE, SE, LEED AP, has been promoted to vice-president in the Seattle office. He has more than 30 years of structural engineering and project management experience with commercial, educational, residential, religious, sustainable, and public projects. He has also overseen design-build, tenant improvement, transit oriented developments, and sustainability projects. He has published engineering articles in Structural Engineer and STRUCTURE magazines. Greg is the Principal In Charge of DCI’s marketing department and a member of the Executive Management Team.

Matthew Hubbard, PE, SE has been promoted to vice-president in the Bozeman office. He has accumulated 15 years of experience in designing structures for commercial, educational, high end residential, and specialty projects, such as large-scale outdoor art installations. His commitment to engineering staff and project management training has been recognized by the firm’s leadership. Matt is a member of the DCI’s Executive Management Team. He is the Principal In Charge of DCI’s human resources department. Matt is also a member of the Timber Framers Guild and the Structural Engineers Association of Montana (SEAM).

Matthew Schmidt, PE, PEng, has been promoted to vice-president in the Missoula office. With more than 25 years of engineering experience, Matthew has worked on large commercial projects such as bridges, municipal buildings, schools, and factories. His management skills and efforts to establish production standards has been recognized by the firm’s leadership. Matthew is a member of the DCI’s Executive Management Team.
