DCI Engineers is proud to announce that Erik Madsen, Principal and founder of DCI's New York office group, DCI+Madsen, is the 2024 recipient of the 2024 Robert Cornforth Award, presented by the National Council of Structural Engineers Associations (NCSEA). As stated by the organization, this award recognizes exceptional dedication and exemplary service to a member organization and to the profession. The award is named for Robert Cornforth, a founding member of NCSEA and treasurer on its first Board of Directors, and a member of OSEA.
Erik is a talented engineer and dedicated to advancing solutions that benefit the industry as a whole. In addition to being a member of the Structural Engineers Associations of New York (SEAoNY), where he served in 2022-23 as President and previously as the New York State delegate to NCSEA for almost 20 years, Erik has also served on the Code Committee and other NCSESA committees.
After serving in 2014 and 2022 to assist with the NYC Building Code editions, he continued as a member of the current NYC Department of Buildings Code Revision Structural Technical Committee. Erik is currently serving as vice-chair of NCSEA’s Code Advisory General Requirements Subcommittee, as well as a member of the upcoming ASCE 7-28.
