Promoted! Meet DCI's Newest Associate and Associate Principals

DCI is welcoming two new Associate Principals and one new Associate to our leadership team!

We’re proud to advance the following individuals to leadership roles at DCI. The work they’ve done has helped advance their departments, and they have demonstrated DCI’s commitment to Service, Innovation and Value since they first started here. Please help us congratulate these DCI team members.

Nina Munj, Associate Principal | San Francisco, CA

As an Associate Principal, Nina Munj’s role will expand to leading large-scale projects and managing significant clients. She will also be involved in the long-term planning and growth of the San Francisco office and DCI as a whole. Since joining DCI Engineers, Nina has demonstrated excellent leadership while managing her team on numerous projects in California. She has grown her technical expertise on podium, commercial office, hospitality, mixed-use, and residential projects. Nina has been instrumental in business development efforts by cultivating both new and existing relationships, contributing to DCI's continued growth and reputation within the industry. She serves as a mentor and leader, guiding junior and mid-level staff in their professional development, fostering their skills and encouraging them to expand their repertoire.

Kyle Cossette, Associate Principal | Spokane, WA

Kyle Cossette has been a valued member of DCI Engineers since he joined nearly 13 years ago. He has been instrumental in growing and maintaining client relationships, leveraging key relationships to create new opportunities for work. Kyle’s reputation for responsive and proactive project management has brought several large podium projects to DCI. He has project experience in designing structures using various materials including concrete, steel, masonry, and wood. Kyle manages a team in the Spokane office and helps mentor many of Spokane’s new engineers and is the chair of DCI’s cold formed steel committee.

Sam Shastany, Associate | Spokane, WA

Sam Shastany joined DCI in 2016 after graduating from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of science in civil & Environmental engineering. Since joining DCI’s civil department, Sam has developed lasting relationships with clients, ingraining in them his reliability and commitment to delivery of high-quality designs. Sam leads teams of engineers in his department in on site preparations for K-12 schools, multi-family residential, commercial, and healthcare projects. Most notably, his project management responsibilities included Lewis and Clark High School, the Spokane County Small Arms Training Facility, and Falls Tower project in Spokane.

Upon graduating from Hofstra University, Leo worked for The Olympian newspaper in Olympia, Washington. He covered two state legislative sessions for PubliCola before joining DCI in 2022 as a Communications Assistant. In addition to copy editing, Leo assists the Marketing & Communications team with creating internal and external content.
