As the growth in Texas continues to surge—with incoming residents, expanding industries and development opportunities—DCI Engineers has opened a third Texas location. Our new Dallas office, located just north of downtown in the Turtle Creek neighborhood, will provide in-person support for our existing clients and ongoing project work.
It’s the most recent development in DCI’s regional expansion, preceded by the opening of the Houston office in 2022.
“We’ve been designing projects throughout Texas for over 20 years and have had a brick-and-mortar in Austin since 2008,” notes Managing Principal of the Austin office and Texas office group, Kris Swanson. “It was only a matter of time till we found ourselves settling down in the state’s two other hubs.”
Managing the new Dallas location is DCI Associate Principal Natasha Richie, who brings with her 21 years of professional design experience – 11 of which have been with the Austin office.
“As a native Texan, I’m incredibly excited and humbled by the opportunity of managing DCI’s new branch in Dallas-Fort Worth, the largest metroplex in Texas and the fourth largest in the U.S.," Natasha adds. "As most locals know, Dallas has amazing food, culture, history, sports and shopping. I’m looking forward to better serving our clients here and our projects throughout the area.”
Recent additions to DCI’s portfolio in Dallas include Katy Trail condos, Element, Las Colinas and URBY, among others; and the team anticipates assisting with delivering other vital developments to the market that support the area’s growing residential, visitor and commerce end users.
Mike Lavi, PE, SE, has been promoted to Associate and will join Natasha at the new Dallas location. While Mike recently joined DCI's Austin group last year, he carries over 10 years of structural engineering experience designing K-12 and higher education projects. Mike is already using his skills & experience to continue designing for education, including student housing, along with parking garages, multi-family and new offices throughout Texas.
