Growing up with two architect parents and a gravitation toward math, structural engineering seemed like the natural choice for Charles. After earning his BS in Architectural Engineering from the University of Texas – Austin, Charles spent a short stint at a small structural engineering firm before landing at DCI in 2019.
Since then, he’s focused on a variety of multi-family and commercial projects across the Austin region – of which included managing and designing an off-campus student housing tower. Because the project was replacing an old college bar in West Campus, Charles got mixed feedback from old college buddies.
But he’s never far from the action as Charles often plays music around Austin’s lively scene. A self-taught guitarist and pedal steel guitarist, Charles values the balance of his creative side with his more technical engineering side.
