Like most industry veterans, Juli’s drafting journey started by hand. While attending Rosemont College as an Interior Design major, she and her classmates would hand draft plans. It was during her senior year that she got a little taste of AutoCAD and, upon graduating, decided to go back to school to learn Revit, AutoCAD, and other drafting software.

Having been with DCI (then MacIntosh Engineering) since earning her computer drafting and design degree, Juli has been designing, drafting, and managing project drawings and models for the past several years, accrediting that process to honing her skills and structural knowledge. She’s become a go-to person for answering questions amongst her design team, in addition to taking on project management and managing the drafting schedule for the Wayne office.

Juli’s been part of several milestone projects throughout the region, from senior living and mixed-use projects to retail and educational developments, including the KOP of Senior Care and the Villanova Dorms.

What is your dream project location?
Honestly, I love that most of our projects are “local” to us. It’s nice to see what we put on paper come to life in the real world.

What is your favorite place, building, or built environment at your current city of residence?
The Blue Elephant – The building was originally built as a bank in 1770 and is now an Asian fusion restaurant. They’ve done a great job preserving the building’s original features, like the brass work, vault doors, and lighting. I’m always impressed by how they’ve kept the history while offering a beautiful dining atmosphere.
