The Marimn Health Coeur Center is a one-story, holistic care community center on 20 acres of land on the Coeur d’Alene Indian Reservation. Through the partnership between Marimn Health and the Coeur d’Alene Tribe, Coeur Center represents a progressive wellness solution to reduce health disparities in the community. Amenities include a family waterpark, natatorium , playground, fitness gym, picnic area, outdoor basketball courts, plus soccer, baseball, and football fields.
DCI Engineers provided primary structural engineering for the facility which consists of heavy timber framing with SIPS roof panels, conventional wood framing, and concrete masonry units. The lateral system of the building consists of conventional wood shear walls, CMU shear walls, and exposed steel braced frames at areas of full height glazing. The team also achieved the design criteria of integrating steel channels to wood columns and maintaining the look of timber construction throughout most of the interior built environment.
