Bringing the Beaver’s a new bookstore: Engineering space to purchase fan merchandise on the Oregon State University campus

DCI Engineers provided the structural engineering design for this new bookstore in Corvallis, Oregon. Home to the Oregon State Beavers, this building is replacing the previous Beaver Store which was located in the Memorial Union east wing since the 1960’s. DCI Engineers developed a unique design which permitted the building to hang off the precast concrete garage, allowing the architects to have flexibility due to the absence of lateral elements. In total, this project is two stories with the second level being used as office space for Beaver Store management and corporate functions.
