Residence Inn Marriott Seattle: A distinctive green street landmark
Just a few blocks away from the Washington State Convention Center, the Residence Inn Marriot stands at 15 stories with the reception area, lobby, retail, conference room, and dining amenities at the ground level. The hotel contains three below-grading parking levels with a total of 115 car stalls. A distinctive port cochere marks the main entryway on Terry Avenue, which is a pedestrian-friendly green street.
DCI Engineers provided both structural and civil engineering services for the 300,000-sf Residence Inn Marriott in Seattle. For structural, the engineering team designed the concrete column reinforcement schedule; foundation, mild reinforcing, PT, roof, and penthouse framing plans; concrete shear wall and beam systems; and the foundation, PT anchor, roof framing, and concrete column details.
For civil, the engineering team worked on the TESC and demolition plan, soil management plan; horizontal control plan; site and grading plan; storm drain; utility plan; detention vault details; utility profiles; and foundation drainage plan.
