DCI provided both civil and structural engineering services for the architect. One particular civil design contribution was ensuring an intuitive pedestrian pathway developed between the hotel and retail destination. Construction support services included reviewing and approving the public ramp and retaining wall details. A specific structural design contribution included determining what was needed to support a partial basement level, which will feature hotel amenities and back-of-house access.
Residence Inn Marriott Wailea is slated to open in June 2016.
