The Spokane County Small Arms Range is a training facility for both Spokane law enforcement and the US Air Force. The Facility is owned and operated by Clark Nexsen Public Safety and is used to train law enforcement to use firearms in tactical and live fire combat situations. The facility has four buildings: a 21,000-sf, 2-21 lane shooting range; a 49,000-sf tactical training facility; a 2,000-sf shoot house; and a steel framed training tower capable of supporting a helicopter’s take-off and landing. There is also asphalt track for police to learn and practice PIT maneuvers. DCI Engineers prepared designs for the four buildings, devising simple structures out of concrete with steel supports to create long clear spans in an uninterrupted interior. DCI’s civil department prepared the site, connecting it to nearby power lines and sewer lines, and designing the pit maneuver track.
