Church Restoration: Parish restores roof and adds modern amenities

St. Vincent de Paul Parish selected Vitetta and DCI+MacINTOSH to provide a comprehensive architectural and engineering assessment of their 165-year-old church roof and domes which exhibited damage from water infiltration. The parish desired a roof replacement and the restoration of the interior murals. The project also included new air conditioning and MEP systems.

DCI+MacINTOSH assessed and analyzed the existing roof conditions and dome structures. The engineering team designed structural repairs and reinforcement for the lower roof, drum plan, framing, steel components, and seismic bracing of architectural and mechanical components.

I love to solve problems – Sudoku puzzles, crosswords, cryptograms, brain teasers. Then, there’s combining problem solving with math, drawings and construction that is our trade by nature. By never settling for ‘cookie cutter’ solutions, but instead developing tailored engineering designs specific to each project… well, that makes for a very rewarding career.”
